Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Phil Hogan

Question:

416 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when he expects work on the Kilmacow sewerage scheme in County Kilkenny to commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11945/01]

The Kilmacow sewerage scheme has been approved for funding under the rural towns and villages initiative. Kilkenny County Council recently advised my Department that the planning procedures in respect of an alternative site for the proposed waste water treatment plant have been commenced. The scheme will be progressed as quickly as possible towards construction once the site and procurement route for the treatment works have been determined.
