Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Teaching Posts.

Denis Naughten

Question:

593 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans he has to appoint permanent teaching staff to the education unit at Castlerea Prison, County Roscommon; the reason no staff have been appointed on a permanent basis to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11345/01]

Michael Creed

Question:

622 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will sanction permanent teaching posts for the education unit at Castlerea Prison as additional posts to those already available to Roscommon VEC; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11668/01]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 593 and 622 together.

I am pleased to inform the Deputies that my Department has authorised County Roscommon Vocational Education Committee to fill two teaching posts in Castlerea Prison on a permanent whole-time basis.
