Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Special Educational Needs.

Question:

608 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has satisfied himself with the level of educational support a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 is receiving as a result of an assessment under the national psychological service in May 2000; if he can provide additional help and support for this pupil; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11536/01]

I am aware of the case to which the Deputy refers.

A member of my Department's inspectorate has investigated the child's need for increased support and is expected to present his report very shortly. As soon as the inspector's report is received my Department will be in touch with the school authorities on this matter.
