Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Student Teachers.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

674 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Science the guidelines or rules covering the inspection of student teachers while on teaching practice; the course of action available to student teachers who feel that they have been unfairly and inappropriately treated by such inspections; if he has received any complaints in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12218/01]

The guidelines or rules covering the inspection of student teachers while on teaching practice are an internal matter for the individual colleges of education. A student teacher who feels that she or he has been unfairly and inappropriately treated during such an inspection should complain directly to the college management authorities.

I have not received any complaint in this regard.
