194 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of gardaí who will be on duty specifically for the concert at Smithfield, Dublin 7, on 4 May 2001; the cost involved; and the financial contribution of the concert promoters towards the cost. [12447/01]
I am informed by the Garda authorities who are responsible for the detailed allocation of Garda personnel and resources that 83 gardaí will be parading for duty for the concert on 4 May 2001, along with 22 members from specialist units, at an estimated cost of £17,000.
I am also informed that the estimated contribution from the promoter is £10,143 for an additional 31 gardaí who will be employed on duty of a non public nature.
