Vol. 535 No. 2

Written Answers - National Schools Curriculum.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

258 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he sees a need for changes in the curriculum in national schools; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12567/01]

Following the publication of the report of the review body on the primary curriculum in 1990, the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment undertook a complete revision of the curriculum for national schools. The revised primary school curriculum was issued to all primary schools in September 1999. Implementation of aspects of the curriculum has already commenced and will continue on a phased basis.
