222 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs the total number of employees in his Department who are currently in receipt of family income supplement; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12971/01]
The number of employees in my Department who are currently in receipt of family income supplement is 19. Eligibility for the scheme is related to family size and earnings and the earnings limits for entitlement increase with family size, up to a maximum earnings limit of £397 a week for a family with eight children. The total number of persons in receipt of family income supplement at present is 12,225.
