Vol. 535 No. 4

Written Answers - Schools Building Projects.

John Bruton

Question:

262 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science when the consultant's report on the provision of a second level school in Ratoath, County Meath will be finalised; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12782/01]

My Department has completed a thorough review of second level educational provision in the Ratoath area. Based on this review and having consulted with the local educational interests, including the current providers of second level education in the area, I am pleased to inform the Deputy that I have decided to approve the provision of a new school in Ratoath.

The new school will be a community college under the aegis of County Meath VEC.
