Vol. 536 No. 1

Written Answers - Airport Charges.

Brendan McGahon

Question:

40 Mr. McGahon asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she has had dialogue with a company (details supplied) recently regarding airport charges and if she will make a statement on the matter. [13229/01]

Airport charges has been one of the topics raised by the company referred to in the course of correspondence with my Department.

As the Deputy is aware, the Aviation Regulation Act is now in force. The framework for independent regulation of airport charges is now being pursued by the regulator, who will make a determination on airport charges in August of this year. The company referred to has been informed that I no longer have a function in this regard and therefore, it would not be appropriate for me to comment further on the matter.
