74 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Defence the proposed arrangements for the disposal of Clancy Barracks; if consideration has been given as to the potential use of part of the site for housing; if an approach has been made by Dublin Corporation regarding the possible use of the site for housing; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Following a recent tender competition, Hamilton Osborne King were appointed selling agents for the disposal of Clancy Barracks. The barracks will be offered for sale by public tender on 14 June 2001. Following an application from my Department to Dublin Corporation the entire area of Clancy Barracks has been re-zoned residential in the Dublin City Development Plan, 1999. The disposal of the property will be on this basis.
