Vol. 536 No. 3

Written Answers - Child Care Services.

Alan Shatter

Question:

223 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the child care groups which have received grants under the equal opportunities scheme for the past three years in the Dublin South constituency area; the number of children each group looks after or plans to look after; if each grant was a capital grant or for staffing; the amount of grant involved; and the grants paid to date in 2001. [14286/01]

The Deputy will understand that records are maintained on a county, regional and national basis rather than on a contituency basis. I have asked the officials of my Department's equal opportunities child care section to supply the Deputy with a composite list of grants made under my Department's equal opportunities child care programme in County Dublin. However, as this list is quite extensive and there are additions to the list which need to be made on foot of my most recent allocation of grants, I will not detail the capital and staffing grants here but I will make the information available to the Deputy in tabular format as soon as possible.
