Vol. 536 No. 5

Written Answers. - Child Care Facilities.

John Perry

Question:

211 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will intervene on behalf of a crèche (details supplied) due to the fact that it has a licence granted by the health board to run a crèche and due to the fact that 75% of its places are for dependants of health board staff; if he will examine major concerns and points that they have raised in correspondence supplied; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14894/01]

In my reply to the Deputy on 1 May 2001, I indicated that the North-Western Health Board is assisting the proprietor of this crèche in acquiring suitable alternative accommodation. I have made further inquiries of the NWHB and I have been informed that it is continuing in its attempt to assist the operators of the crèche in their search for new premises. The crèche proprietors have been advised by the board that on the identifi cation of alternative accommodation, their proposal will receive urgent consideration.
