Vol. 536 No. 5

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

David Stanton

Question:

213 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will ensure that a person (details supplied) in County Cork is admitted to Cork University Hospital in order to receive treatment to relieve chronic pain; when he will be admitted; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14896/01]

The Deputy will appreciate that the scheduling of admissions to hospitals is a matter for the relevant hospital concerned based upon clinical priority. I have asked the chief executive officer at the Southern Health Board, who has responsibility for the provision of hospital services in the case to which the Deputy refers, to look into the matter and reply directly to him as a matter of urgency.
