Vol. 536 No. 5

Written Answers. - Community Nursing Units.

Dick Spring

Question:

222 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Health and Children the timetable for the building of the community nursing unit for the elderly at Tralee General Hospital, County Kerry. [14934/01]

The provision of health services in County Kerry in the first instance is a matter for the Southern Health Board. The Southern Health Board has advised that it has provided for a community nursing unit in Tralee as one of the projects it wishes to develop under the National Development Plan 2001-2006. A project team has been appointed by the board and it will be a matter for that project team to propose a timetable which has regard to the various project management and planning issues of such developments.
