Vol. 536 No. 5

Written Answers. - Departmental Surveys.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

288 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will publish the full results of the survey of local authorities carried out by his Department in 2000 which indicated that the average amount outstanding on individual fixed rate local authority loans was less than £5,200; and if he will provide a copy of the results to the Library of the Houses of the Oireachtas. [14970/01]

I understand that some local authorities, in replying to my Department's survey of local authority fixed interest rate loans with interest rates above 7%, omitted details in respect of tenant purchase loans. These details have now been requested from local authorities and a copy of the full results of the survey including tenant purchase loans will be forwarded to the Deputy and placed in the Library as soon as they become available.
