Vol. 537 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

John McGuinness

Question:

217 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a letter requesting a medical examination and tests for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny was held for ten weeks by St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny and not transmitted or delivered to St. James's Hospital, Dublin 8; the further reason he is still on a waiting list for a very serious heart operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15684/01]

The provision of services is a matter for the South Eastern Health Board. I have, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
