296 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he is in a position to sanction the acceptance of a tender by Kildare County Council in relation to the provision of a new library at Newtown House, Leixlip, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The tender report for this project was received some time ago in my Department. Clarification was sought from the library authority on a number of items in the report and, in this regard, certain information is still awaited.

When this information is to hand, it would be my intention to bring this matter to an early conclusion.
