379 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will extend the pilot project currently run in the Monaghan region where teachers are being trained in assessment procedures to all other parts of the country. [15587/01]
The pilot project in question involves the National Educational Psychological Service Agency and all primary schools in County Monaghan. It is still under way. NEPS plans to review the outcomes of the pilot project and to carry out an evaluation of its effectiveness. The results will inform the future policy of NEPS. At this stage, NEPS anticipates that it will consider recommending the extension of the County Monaghan arrangements to other areas.
