Pádraic McCormack

Question:

384 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Education and Science the position on the application by the school management board, Lettergesh primary school, Renvyle, Connemara, County Galway, for an extra room; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15600/01]

An application for additional accommodation has been received from the board of management of Lettergesh National School, Renvyle, Connemara, County Galway. However, it is not possible at this stage to give any indication as to the timeframe for the provision of the accommodation.

385 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Education and Science the position for an extension to St. Colman's national school, Corofin, Cummer, Tuam, County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15601/01]

An updated stage 1-2 submission in respect of the proposed building project at St. Colman's national school, Corofin, Cummer, Tuam, County Galway, as prepared by the school's design team, has recently been submitted to my Department. This submission is being assessed and the school authorities will be kept informed of developments.

Question:

386 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Education and Science the current status of the application for additional classrooms by Kilternan national school. [15602/01]

Architectural planning is under way for additional accommodation at Kilternan Church of Ireland national school. It is not possible to say at this point when construction will commence.

387 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Education and Science when funding will be available to Knockconnan national school, Ballyoisin, Emyvale, County Monaghan; if his attention has been drawn to the urgency of this project as it is part of an overall resource centre for funding already agreed by cross-Border bodies which could be lost to the area if delays are to continue indefinitely; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Architectural planning for a project at Knockconnan national school, Ballyoisin, Emyvale, County Monaghan, is under way. In view of the large number of projects currently being dealt with by my Department, it is not possible at this stage to give a timescale as to when the facilities will be provided.

388 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received a submission from a school (details supplied) in County Meath regarding a proposal for the relocating of their school to a new site; the reason there is such a long delay in making a final decision following his Department's assessment of the site; if they have found the site to be suitable; when the final decision regarding the purchase of the site will be made; the time scale involved before the commencement of work; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15617/01]

A proposal has been received from the school authorities in question for the relocation of the school to a new site. Officials of my Department are currently examining the submission and a decision regarding this matter will be conveyed to the school authorities as soon as possible.
