Question:

389 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Science the annual monetary subvention given to the following bodies: National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals, National Parents' Council, Irish Vocational Education Association, Association of Community and Comprehensive Schools, Secretariat of Secondary Schools and the Catholic Primary School Managers' Association; and the salary paid to officials within these organisations. [15618/01]

My Department has given the following annual monetary subvention to the bodies listed in the question: National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals: the general secretary of this association is on secondment from her principal's post without salary recoupment to my Department which would be equivalent to £60,000 approximately, this figure includes salary and employer costs; National Parents Council – Primary: £90,000 with additional funding of £15,000 also paid in recent years; National Parents Council – Post-Primary: annual allocation of £90,000 with additional funding of £15,000 also available in recent years; Irish Vocational Education Association: £65,000 with additional funding of £10,000 also paid in recent years; Association of Community and Comprehensive Schools: £65,000 with £10,000 additional funding also paid in recent years; Secretariat of Secondary Schools: £75,000 with £10,000 additional funding also paid in recent years; and Catholic Primary Schools Parents Association: £70,000 with an additional £10,000 paid in 2000.

The salaries of staff employed by these bodies is a matter for each body.
