Vol. 537 No. 5

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Denis Naughten

Question:

407 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will approve funding for the upgrading of the treatment plant for the Lisheen water scheme in County Roscommon; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17191/01]

These works are an element of the north east Roscommon regional water supply augmentation and treatment scheme which is included in my Department's water services investment programme to commence construction in 2002. A brief for the appointment of consultants to prepare contract documents was approved by my Department in February 2000, and the submission of the contract documents by Roscommon County Council is awaited.
