174 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5 will be given an appointment under the BreastCheck programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17369/01]
BreastCheck, the national breast screening programme, commenced in February 2000. Phase 1 of the programme covers the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the North-Eastern and Midland Health Boards. Screening takes place on an area by area basis by district electoral divisions. My Department has asked BreastCheck to investigate the case referred to by the Deputy and reply directly as a matter of urgency.
