Vol. 538 No. 2

Written Answers. - RAPID Programme.

John Perry

Question:

71 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the plans he has in place to extend the RAPID programme to include the areas of Cloonacool, Curry, Aclare, Tourlestrane and Banada in County Sligo as these were excluded for the upper Shannon tax renewal scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17534/01]

The rural strand of the RAPID programme, known as CLÁR, for which my Department has responsibility, will be targeted at areas of disadvantage, based primarily on population decline. An announcement of the areas, when selected, will be made in the coming weeks.
