168 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if his Department has received sanction from the European Commission to allow farmers with less than 20 livestock income units to participate in the farm waste management scheme. [18030/01]

I am examining the possibility of providing the necessary funding from my Department's Vote for 2001 which will enable me proceed to seek EU Commission approval to introduce this amendment to the farm waste management scheme.
