Vol. 538 No. 3

Written Answers. - Speech Therapy Service.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

245 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the speech and language therapy services he will provide for a person (details supplied) in County Waterford when that person commences primary education in September 2001; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18083/01]

The provision of health related services, including speech and language therapy services, to people with physical and sensory disabilities is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the South-Eastern Health Board with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy, as a matter of urgency.
