Vol. 538 No. 3

Written Answers. - Disabled Drivers.

Nora Owen

Question:

285 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he has received the report from the working group examining the operation of the scheme of relief of tax and excise duty provided for under Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers (Tax Concessions) Regulations, 1994; if so, the recommendations the working group has made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17877/01]

As I have stated in response to previous questions on this subject, the review group will present its report to the Minister for Finance in the first instance. The report is now in the process of being drafted. I understand that the group has yet to finalise its recommendations pending receipt of some outstanding information. It is hoped to have the drafting completed in the near future.
