122 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the person to whom she has devolved policy regarding the provision of quality mobile telephone services; if she has received an indica tion as to the need for improvement in coverage and quality of service; the policy decisions she has taken or will take regarding this issue; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [18991/01]

I have responsibility for communications policy matters including the legal and regulatory framework for the sector. The quality and coverage of mobile services is a matter for the Director of Telecommunications Regulation to ensure, in accordance with the terms imposed on operators under the licences issued by the director.
