136 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Defence if he will list each EU Council of Ministers meeting since July 1997 at which he was entitled to attend; and, in respect of each such meeting, if he attended or another Minister, a Minister of State, or another person represented him; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy will be aware that there is no Defence Ministers Council formation and that meetings of EU Defence Ministers have only informal status. I have attended a total of five informal meetings of EU Defence Ministers. Deputy Cowen, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Deputy Brennan, Minister for State at the Department of Defence and Deputy Davern, Minister for State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development represented me at a further three informal meetings.
