Vol. 539 No. 1

Written Answers. - File Storage.

Gerry Reynolds

Question:

147 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the cost to his Department of storing files and related documents in private rented storage; and the plans he has to purchase or build a storage area for his Department. [18609/01]

The cost of storing files and related documents was £20,000 in the period January to end June 2001. In general, storage is provided within office accommodation occupied by Department staff or in other space supplied by the Office of Public Works. This Department has no plans to purchase storage areas. The matter of storage areas is an element in this Department's ongoing contacts with the Office of Public Works in relation to the provision of office accommodation.
