Vol. 539 No. 1

Written Answers. - Victims Commission.

Nora Owen

Question:

367 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if a plan based on the report and recommendations of a person (details supplied) published in July 1999 has been submitted to the Government for approval; if not, when he proposes to submit this plan for approval; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18847/01]

Work has already commenced on implementing a number of the recommendations in the report of the Victims Commission. The remaining recommendations cover a wide range of areas which fall within the areas of competence of a number of Departments and agencies, including my Department. Work, based on consultations with other Departments and agencies, is continuing on developing an implementation plan in respect of these remaining recommendations. I expect to submit the plan to Government for approval in the near future.
