456 Mr. McDowell asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay in providing a report of an educational psychologist in respect of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5; and if he will ensure the report is obtained in sufficient time to allow for appropriate arrangements to be made for the new school year. The child referred to by the Deputy was originally assessed by an agency other than the National Educational Psychological Service, NEPS. A psychologist from NEPS has been involved with the case in recent months with a view to accessing an appropriate placement for the student in a post-primary school. I am pleased to be able to inform the Deputy that a place has now been offered to the student concerned and recommendations made by the NEPS psychologist for additional teaching resources have been accepted by my Department. It is envisaged that a full psychological assessment of this student will be undertaken during the next school year.
