Vol. 539 No. 2

Written Answers. - Bus Services.

Beverley Flynn

Question:

69 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if the departure time of a CIE bus which leaves Dooagh, Achill, County Mayo, at 4 p.m. each day could be altered by 15 minutes to enable it to meet the train at Westport before it departs for Dublin. [19236/01]

Decisions on the scheduling of services are a matter for Bus Éireann in the first instance. In January this year, a direction was issued to Bus Éireann under section 19(7) of the Transport (Re-organisation of Coras Iompair Éireann) Act, 1986, requiring notification of proposals for the introduction of new or modified services. My Department has not received a notification from Bus Éireann concerning a proposed change in departure times on this route.
