Vol. 539 No. 2

Written Answers. - State Transport.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

156 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the members of the Judiciary who are provided with official transport; and the circumstances in which they are provided. [19305/01]

The practice has been for the Chief Justice to be provided permanently with a state car.

I am advised by the Garda authorities that for security reasons there are occasions when other members of the Judiciary are provided with official Garda transport.
