134 Mr. Roche asked the Minister for Finance when it is planned to extend the remit of the Ombudsman to public voluntary hospitals and non-commercial State sponsored bodies; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20424/01]

I hope the Bill to extend the remit of the Ombudsman to cover new areas, including public voluntary hospitals and non-commercial State sponsored bodies, can be published before the end of this year.
