355 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the number of farmers who have been admitted and sanctioned for the new REP scheme. [22528/01]

Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (Mr. Walsh):

At 30 September 2001, 11,024 applications had been recorded under the new REP scheme. Of these, 8,417 have been approved and paid to date.
