Vol. 541 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Charges.

John Perry

Question:

441 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will ensure that all fees of the Bon Secours Hospital, Dublin for a person (details supplied) in County Sligo are waived or reduced; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21227/01]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Sligo is, in this instance, the statutory responsibility of the North-Western Health Board. My Department has made inquiries of the board and following consideration of this case, the board has agreed to make a financial contribution towards the cost of the patient's treatment, on receipt of necessary documentation.
