Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Creed – the financial losses incurred by farmers under the disadvantaged areas scheme 2001 and the need for an appeal mechanism; (2) Deputy Healy – the need to announce a promised decentralisation package for south Tipperary; (3) Deputy Neville – the report of the Environmental Protection Agency on animal health at Askeaton; (4) Deputy Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny)– the unsatisfactory nature of the service provided to pupils attending Ballinkillen school, Bagenalstown, County

Carlow; (5) Deputy Deasy – the need to provide speech and language therapists for schools which cater for special needs; (6) Deputy John Bruton – the lack of availability of speech therapists and the problems which arise regarding the co-ordination of their work, training and availability; (7) Deputy Perry – the need for an extension at St. Edward's national school, Ballytivnan, Sligo; (8) Deputy Broughan – the need to establish a jobs task force for Clonshaugh and Dublin north side (9) Deputy Kirk – the package of measures planned for farmers in the Cooley Peninsula, County Louth, in the wake of the foot and mouth disease crisis; (10) Deputy Ring – the need for immediate payment of moneys due to farmers under the farm improvement grants scheme; (11) Deputy Ellis – the position of the AIBP boning plant in Dromod, County Leitrim, and the proposed lay-off of workers by AIBP; (12) Deputy Gerry Reynolds – the closure of the AIBP meat plant in Dromod, County Leitrim, with the loss of over 70 jobs; (13) Deputy Brian Hayes – the provision of central heating in all homes under the control of local authorities; (14) Deputy Clune – the reason an agreement to provide a classroom attendant and home tuition services for a person is not being honoured; (15) Deputy Seán Ryan – the proposed purchase of helicopters for the Air Corps; (16) Deputy Naughten – the need to update the House on information the Minister has received relating to the administration of the animal vaccine Tribovax T to Irish children; (17) Deputy Jim O'Keeffe – the need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to review the Irish citizenship granted to certain persons in 1990; and (18) Deputy Batt O'Keeffe – the need to amend the Medical Practitioners Act, 1978.

The matters raised by Deputies Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny), Naughten, Batt O'Keeffe and Jim O'Keeffe have been selected for discussion.
