474 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the gross overcrowding and substantial accommodation problem at Gaelscoil Chill Mhantáin in Wicklow town; the reason the acquisition of a site for a permanent school has not yet been completed; the actions he is taking to address the delay in processing this acquisition; when it will be completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department's legal representatives, the Chief State Solicitor's office, are in negotiations with the vendor's legal representatives in relation to the purchase of a site for Gaelscoil Chill Mhantáin. The school authorities will be informed of developments.

475 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding the finalisation of the purchase of a site for a school (details supplied) in County Wicklow; the expediting of the building project through its various stages to completion and occupation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22875/01]

Architectural planning for the work at the school referred to by the Deputy is under way. It is not possible to say when construction will commence. The school authorities will be informed of developments.
