Vol. 541 No. 4

Written Answers. - Cromien Report.

Pat Rabbitte

Question:

175 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress made to date on the implementation of the recommendations contained in the Cromien report. [23006/01]

Detailed planning towards the implementation of recommendations contained in the Cromien report is well advanced in my Department.

Implementation of the major structural changes agreed by Government in June 2001 will proceed immediately the current consultations with staff interests are concluded. A wide range of other processes, systems and reorganisation measures arising from the review are also currently in train. I will shortly be making announcements on the establishment, as recommended in the Cromien report, of a range of appellate structures.
