Question:

180 Mr. Stanton asked the Taoiseach the number of people here who are over 12 years of age and under 19 years of age; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22737/01]

It is estimated that there were 377,400 persons aged over 12 years and under 19 years in April 2001. This represents 9.8% of the total estimated population of 3.84 million.
