John McGuinness

Question:

451 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the status of an application by persons (details supplied) in County Kilkenny for naturalisation. [23874/01]

The persons referred to by the Deputy applied for certificates of naturalisation in December 1996. In November 1998 I decided to refuse certificates of naturalisation in these instances and the applicants were informed of this decision in writing. The persons referred to may apply again at any time in the future provided that they meet the statutory requirements for naturalisation at the time of application.
