Written Answers. - DIT Facilities.

Emmet Stagg

Question:

518 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the Dublin Institute of Technology offices in Mountjoy Square, Dublin 1, were closed down following inspection by a fire officer and that no alternative arrangements have been made for students there; and if he will ensure that studies are recommenced at an alternative venue as a matter of urgency. [23905/01]

The Dublin Institute of Technology is a statutory body established under the Dublin Institute of Technology Act, 1992. The governance and day to day activities of the institute are matters for which the governing body and the management staff of the institute are responsible. However, I have had inquiries made with the Dublin Institute of Technology on the matter and I am advised that the issues referred to by the Deputy have been resolved.
