33 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she has received a response from the Minister for Finance in relation to the erosion of pensions of members of the Retired Aviation Staff Association in the past ten years; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [24129/01]
In keeping with my undertaking of 20 June 2001 in Dáil Éireann, I committed the case made by the Retired Aviation Staff Association, RASA, for enhanced pension increases for Aer Lingus and Aer Rianta pensioners for consideration to my colleague the Minister for Finance, Deputy McCreevy, who has overall responsibility for pension matters in the public sector. A reply was recently received. I have conveyed the views of the Minister for Finance to RASA by letter dated 4 October 2001.
