Vol. 542 No. 3

Written Answers. - Air Services.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

102 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she has given a specific direction to air transport operatives with a view to ensuring continuity of service in the current uncertainty; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [24574/01]

The action of the Government in underwriting the gap in insurance cover for third party war risks enables airlines, airports, and other essential service providers to continue their operations; apart from that issue, continuity of essential air services generally has not arisen.
