82 Mr. Power asked the Minister for Defence if he will consider allowing civilian driving licences to be recognised by the Defence Forces for the obtaining of the AF154; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24642/01]

Under the terms of Training Instruction 2/2001 – Defence Forces Driver Training Policy – military personnel are required to undergo a course of instruction and a driving test within the military system to qualify for an AF154, regardless of the category of civilian driving licence held by the individual.
