Liz McManus

Question:

136 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of paediatric surgeons working in Ireland registered with the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons; the Irish hospitals in which they are practising; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24648/01]

The British Association of Paediatric Surgeons is a specialist association. Its objects are the advancement of study, practice and research in paediatric surgery and the fostering of professional relations with paediatric surgeons overseas. According to the BAPS, four of their consultant members are working in Ireland. The details of the hospitals in which they are working are not readily available.
