Vol. 542 No. 5

Written Answers. - Maternity Services.

Seymour Crawford

Question:

294 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of beds in the maternity unit in each of the hospitals in the North Eastern Health Board area in September 2000 and in September 2001; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24975/01]

The provision of hospital services, including maternity services within its functional area, is the statutory responsibility of the North Eastern Health Board. I have, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the North Eastern Health Board to compile the information requested and to forward it to the Deputy Directly.
