Vol. 542 No. 5

Written Answers. - Services for People with Disabilities.

Michael Ring

Question:

343 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on whether a person (details supplied) in County Mayo who lives alone with severe health problems and disabilities should have to wait over a year for an assessment for necessary aiding equipment; his further views on whether this is a reasonable level of service; and if he will ensure that an assessment is carried out shortly. [25271/01]

The provision of health services in County Mayo is a matter for the Western Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to examine this case and respond directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
