355 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if the Government intends to introduce legislation to end the dual mandate of members of the Oireachtas and local authorities; and if he will make a statement on the matter [24932/01]

The updated Government legislation programme – 28 September 2001 – contains no proposals for amend ment of the recently enacted Local Government Act, 2001.
