Vol. 543 No. 2

Written Answers. - Motor Taxation.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

536 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his views on whether, by treating bicycles with small electric motors and speed restricted to push bike level as motor bikes with the speed of motor cars, he will effectively put these zero emission vehicles off the road; and if he will ensure that such vehicles are treated favourably and exempted from road tax as in other countries. [26746/01]

I refer to the replies to Questions Nos. 705, 706, 717 and 732 of 3 October and Question No. 157 of 18 October. The position is unchanged.
